Microlearning in professional development in Germany

In this article, a case study is presented in which Apprentices had the possibility to do online exam preparations with micro learning. The platform was based on a wiki. Tasks included small tasks e.g. translations or practical problem solutions, and a glossary for technical terms. Tasks could be fulfilled either alone or in a group. Also, additional tasks could be added.

The microcontent used in this scenario was derived from official exam topics. Microcontent units in form of exam preparation tasks were grouped into three main sub-topics, i.e. correspondence, manuals and presentations in English, with each sub-topic comprising 10 microcontent units.
